Soundscapes of America & Beyond

During the winter of 2015, I led a team of 4 to create a quadrophonic surround sound audio art installation as a preliminary endeavor in studying the effect of natural sound on room users.

Installation featured recordings from the National Park Service, local regional soundscapes recorded by Paul Kirby and myself, as well as personal recordings of mine from Japan.

I designed and installed the audio system as well as programmed it in QLab for audio to seamlessly loop and adapt to either time of day or to be controlled via wireless networked MIDI commands from an iPad interface.  I tuned the system using Fuzzmeasure and programmed the wireless iPad interface with TouchOSC.
