O-Mini PIP

$130.00

The O-Mini PIP is a stereo set of high-sensitivity, miniature omnidirectional electret microphones that feature a natural frequency response and capture usable ultrasonic frequencies. These microphones are a good choice for discrete recordings of both subtle elements and active environments.

The O-Mini PIP requires Plug-in Power to operate and is built using premium components from Neutrik, Mogami and Primo.

Designed and hand-built in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Testimonials:

George Vlad, sound recordist on Dune: Part 2, Mufasa: the Lion King, Horizon Forbidden West

“I've used several O-Mini P48 and PIP mics over the past year and they have quickly earned their place in my regular expedition kit. These mics have survived many humid nights in rainforests without skipping a beat. The self noise is low, they don't clip easily and they reach high in the frequency spectrum. I only hope Chris can ramp up production to keep up with demand.”

Recommended Wind Protection:

(Click to go to website)

Low Wind: Twin Windbubble Lav Size 2

Moderate Wind: Medium Windbubble Pro

Moderate to Slightly Heavier Wind: Medium Windbubble Pro Extremes

For Heavy Wind, I would recommend using some sort of blimp system to create a more robust air barrier around the microphone.

FAQ

  • Presently, International orders (outside the USA) are limited to $400 USD per individual order. EU customers must pay their own VAT.

The particulars of international orders are something I am still learning. I am currently using a service that will do all of the requisite customs work and then cheaply send packages worldwide, but they restrict their services to orders no more than $400 USD. For the time being, this lack of flexibility is one sacrifice I am making.

I apologize for the inconvenience. From what I can tell, a single person could make multiple discrete international orders and be fine. While doubling up on shipping costs is less than ideal, ordering twice through this service is still cheaper than the other options I have found.

  • The reduce the complexity of shipping logistics, the webstore is currently automated to use USPS.

If you need something faster than Priority Mail speed or prefer a different carrier (IE: Fedex or UPS), please either use the contact form here or email me at info (at) chrisatrevino.com and I can create a custom quote for you.

I appreciate your patience with this process. As I scale and learn more of the logistics end of things, I hope to expand the automated shipping service providers.
